November 2, 2015: Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. (ATL) will host the eleventh in a series of webcasts on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 entitled Justifying the Move from Legacy to Next Generation LIMS. This informative webcast will focus on the fact that many laboratories are currently using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that no longer meets the lab’s requirements. These “legacy” LIMS no longer are able to keep up with the pace of changing capabilities due to internal (changing business processes) and external (changing industry or regulatory requirements) factors.
Legacy LIMS have traditionally been sample-centric and needed to be customized to meet requirements. However, the downside to customization is that it prevents laboratories from taking advantage of software upgrades and, as a result, labs lose out on new features that may help enhance lab productivity or reduce operational costs.
On the other hand, “modern” or next generation LIMS are workflow-centric with richer functionality and are highly configurable. Configurability is a powerful function as it allows a LIMS user to upgrade to a newer version and maintain the same configuration settings. A next generation LIMS also provide powerful reporting capabilities and are designed to integrate with other enterprise applications. A next generation LIMS will also be designed to be much easier to use, without sacrificing functionality, than the majority of legacy LIMS. This webcast will provide a compelling business case for why organizations should migrate to a next generation LIMS.
Recommended attendees include laboratory owners, directors and managers, and quality managers and directors in the analytical, food & beverage, manufacturing (product/material testing), agriculture, energy, environmental, water/wastewater, life science, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, forensics, public health and other market sectors.
