December 21, 2015: Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. (ATL) will kickoff the 2016 LIMS Webcast Series on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 with LIMS and the Cloud – A Compelling and Cost Effective Combination for the Laboratory. This webcast will focus on the growing use of Software as a Service (SaaS) architecture as a cost effective deployment option. SaaS is also known as “in the cloud” delivery and offers a number of compelling benefits for potential clients including:

  • No capital investment needed for servers/storage/database/infrastructure/security – hosted and maintained by vendor.
  • System uptime for SaaS applications now typically approaching 99.999% so availability is no longer a major concern for customers.
  • LIMS software is typically licensed on a monthly basis and includes upgrades and technical support. This means there is no significant upfront acquisition cost – just a nominal monthly subscription fee.

The webcast will serve as a primer on ATL’s “in the cloud” offerings and will provide attendees with a total cost of ownership (TCO) comparison of a LIMS solution implemented in a traditional “premise-based” scenario vs. a LIMS solution implemented with cloud-based delivery. The goal of the webcast will be to educate attendees on when a cloud-based LIMS implementation may provide the best delivery option vs. a traditional premise-based solution.

Recommended attendees include laboratory owners, directors and managers, and quality assurance officers, managers and directors in the analytical, food & beverage, manufacturing (product/material testing), agriculture, energy, environmental, water/wastewater, life science, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, forensics, public health and other market sectors.
