Leveraging LIMS to Achieve Regulatory Compliance for the Cannabis Testing Laboratory
will focus on how implementing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) supports efficiency, productivity, and regulatory compliance. The cannabis industry is challenged in navigating today’s complex regulatory landscape. In the US, cannabis laboratories are required to be ISO 17025 certified. Additionally, in order to effectively manage the increasing volume of analytical and ancillary data that cannabis labs must manage, LIMS are a necessity.

Laboratories must also track their employee credentials, training and certifications, as well as instrument calibrations, repair, and maintenance. There is also a need to manage corrective and preventative actions to address non-conformities. Traceability is becoming increasingly important, from raw material to finished product, but also for the chemicals, reagents and supplies used in each analysis. The International Standards Organization is continually updating their requirements, changing audit criteria.

This presentation will discuss primary considerations for LIMS selection, including cost of ownership, deployment (SaaS or premises), technology, features, QA/QC, usability, and security. There will also be a brief discussion on the gaps in using manual and Excel-based systems.

This virtual event allows attendees to participate with no travel or registration costs – it is completely complimentary. The entire conference takes place on March 24th and those registered can pick and choose which sessions to attend.
