Need Funding for your LIIMS? The Infrastructure Act May Help

On November 6, 2021, the U.S. Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).  The sweeping $1.2 trillion IIJA addresses pressing and long-overlooked infrastructure needs across the U.S. Specific targeted areas of neglect include the following:

These sought after resources come at a time when utilities and laboratories are facing staffing uncertainties and are being asked to do more with less. This mandate applies to a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for monitoring of water systems and secured and reliable communication. Three areas of the IIJA–Clean Water, High Speed Internet, and Cyber-attacks–clearly address these issues.

If you have been constrained from acquiring or updating a LIMS due to financial and/or technical limitations, this may be a great opportunity to address your needs. The mechanism for applying for this funding has not yet been made available, so please be aware of upcoming funding announcements from the appropriate State or Federal funding sources (e.g., US EPA State Revolving Fund, US Army Corps of Engineers, etc.). The US EPA regularly holds grant funding webinars; the next one is on January 26, 2022: https://www.epa.gov/grants/epa-grants-award-process-webinars.

When you acquire the funding for your lab LIMS upgrades, ATL has the products you need for improved automation and meeting regulatory requirements.

Wishing you a great and safe 2022!
